For crewing managers
CHIEF. · Employers
Seafarers on CHIEF. keep their certificates and sea service up to date for their own sake. When one shares a profile link or a CV with you, you see current data in the same layout every time. Free, no account needed.
The public profile
A seafarer can turn on a public profile at chief.direct/u/name and send you the link. It shows the rank, citizenship, availability, languages, a short summary, years of sea service, vessel types and each certificate with its status: valid, expiring or expired.
It does not show certificate numbers, phone, e-mail or address. Those come in the CV, when the seafarer sends it to you.

Contact the seafarer directly
Under the profile is a short form: your name, company, e-mail and the offer. It goes to the seafarer’s confirmed e-mail and into the app’s feed. The seafarer replies from their own e-mail, so the conversation continues between the two of you.
Write the rank, the vessel type, the rotation and the joining date: the seafarer sees the message on the phone, often at sea.

CVs in one layout
A CV from CHIEF. always has the same order: key certificates, diplomas, endorsements, documents, certificates with numbers and dates, medical, then sea service with the vessel and engine data and the months per rank. PDF or Word, in English.

Screens from the CHIEF. demo account: the person, ships and numbers are invented.
What CHIEF. does not do
- It does not verify documents. The seafarer enters them; check the originals, or with the administration that issued them, as you do today.
- It is not a job board and does not search seafarers for you. You see a profile when a seafarer shares the link.
