Every section crewing asks for
Personal details, travel documents, seaman’s books, medical certificates, career details, diplomas, endorsements, certificates, sea service and preferences, each with a check mark when it is complete. Fill them in any order; the CV shows how much is left.
Diplomas follow STCW: the regulation, the capacity and the limitation, so a CoC reads as “Chief Engineer • STCW III/2 • Unlimited”.
Sea service with the ship and the engine
Each contract keeps the vessel name and IMO number, type and size, flag, rank and dates and, for the engine department, the main engine, its power and the generators. CHIEF. adds up the months at sea, in total and for the last five years, and in the CV per rank.
Send it as PDF or Word
“Send CV” on the home screen makes the file: PDF to send as it is, Word when a crewing company wants to edit it. Certificates come with numbers, dates and a status, valid or expiring, and the file is named with your name and rank.

Good to know
- The CV is in English, as crewing companies expect.
- Months in the app are days on board divided by an average month and rounded. For a certificate application, count them the way your administration does: the free sea-time calculator shows both.
